Today I was emailed by a lady from Iowa ABD. She was very helpful and gave me all the information I needed to know about the licensing I needed to start the brew supply store/brew house. She informed me that I can get what is called a Iowa Native Brewery License (BAN) which runs for $250 for every 12 months. She also let me know that I would need to obtain the Class "B" beer permit which could range from $100 to $300, depending on the population of my city. With that being said I will also need Dram Insurance or liquor liability to cover anyone that is drinking on your premise. Well thanks for all the information Leisa! Every state will have different codes and license requirements so you will need to check with them.
Moving on... I have spent most of my day today and others trying to figure out the best system to go with. Sam from Dogfish Head likes the new Pro-Level Pilot system from Sabco called brew magic. I have also head great things about the B3 system from Beer, Beer, and More Beer. I like their tippy system with the 20 gallon capacity. It is also cheaper then the system from Sabco. I would really like to get a 1-3 BBL system but I am also trying to do this on a very tight budget. I have contacted both places to see what kind of deal and how much shipping will cost. I will let you know what I decide, when I decide.
